Life Advice Round-Up
I've talked a lot about how change is an inevitable constant and how we should all ride the wave of life. I've talked about how we should trust the process through all of life's changes and how we need to give those we love an extra hug. We all need some small reminders about how to make the most out of this life we're given, and sometimes the advice we give others is the same advice we need to hear ourselves. So here I am once again, reminding you that life is short. Everything is temporary. Everyone is meant to come and go into life at the EXACT right moments and the fact that the universe will always have our backs (as long as we have our own) is such a beautiful fact that we live with.
On a recent Instagram post, I talked a little about how I'm always looking forward to the next thing and how I count this as a weakness. Oftentimes I'm too excited for the next step. I'm anxious about what the unknown holds, and I'm ready to dive in and almost "get it over with." For someone who's obsessed with planning and routines, I struggle every day with waiting for that next step, especially if I don't know what that next step entails.
I know I'm not alone when I admit that I spend WAY too much time on screens. From TV, to my phone, to my computer, and even our Nintendo Switch. Too often, I waste my time away on these screens and I find myself not living life. I'm finding myself running away from problems (aka procrastinating my blog work or househunting necessities) or I'm comparing where I am in life with those on the internet - whether I know the people I'm comparing myself to or not. Most of the time, I'm not meeting myself where I actually am mentally.
2020 has been filled with ups, downs, and side-ways as well as goods, bads, and indifferences - and it's taken me a bit of time, but that's what makes it all so beautiful. This year has been a year of growth for everyone. We're being forced to show our true colors and although the news may not show it, kindness is spreading like wildfire. People are giving others what they have. Love is everywhere, we just have to open our eyes to see it.
As the year continues on, I have one mantra that I think everyone should repeat to themselves, once, twice, however many times you need. It may even help you live the rest of the year more intentionally:
I give love.
I receive love.
I am worthy of love.
I am love.
